Kevin Hoshstrasser is the site
director for Florida Operations and Florida Space Shuttle
Operations (FSSO) at Kennedy Space Center, Fla., for Boeing’s
Space Exploration division.
As the site director for Florida
Operations, Hoshstrasser manages Boeing’s Space Exploration
Fla., site and represents Boeing with key customers on the Space
Coast. As the site director for FSSO, he is responsible for
providing Boeing Space Shuttle Design Center support to United
Space Alliance (USA) under the Shuttle Program Operations
Contract, which includes coordinating the activities of the
Orbiter Vehicle Engineering, Integration and Logistics
Directorates, and strategic planning and management of the
Boeing Space Shuttle support teams.
Prior to these appointments,
Hoshstrasser served as the Boeing Launch Site chief engineer and
director of Engineering from 2001 to July, 2006 and as director
of Safety & Mission Assurance from 1999 to April 2001.
Hoshstrasser joined The Boeing
Company in 1983 and has progressed through positions of
increasing responsibility in the Engineering, Operations and
Quality organizations.
Hoshstrasser received a bachelor’s
degree in engineering from the University of Central Florida and
a master’s in business administration from the Florida Institute
of Technology. He is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer
in both Florida and California, holds the ASQ Certified Quality
Manager and Certified Quality Engineer registrations and a
master’s certificate from Villanova as a Six Sigma Black Belt.
He serves on the University of Central Florida Engineering
Executive Council and is the recipient of the National
Management Association’s Gold Knight of Leadership award.
